Features
Customization: My F1000M
You can customize the service by choosing the sub-specialties that interest you most. In doing so, your “My F1000M” page will display the articles relevant to your areas of interest. You can do this if you are accessing the service through your institutional subscription, without affecting other users.
Email alerts from your “My F1000M” page
You can set the service to send you email alerts of articles recently added to your areas of interest. You can specify how many articles you want in these emails, and how often you wish to receive them.
Stored Searches
Perform and refine a search, and then store it so that you can re-run it when you return to the service. You can store as many as you like. Additionally, you can set the service so that a search is run automatically, and the results are sent to you in an email. Again, you can specify how many articles you want in these emails, and how often you wish to receive them.
Browsing
You can view articles, and the Faculty Members' evaluations of them, in any number of ways: by specialty (Faculty) or sub-specialty (Section); by the F1000 Factor; by when the article was added to the service; by when the article last received an evaluation from a Faculty Member; and by those articles with the most evaluations.
Top 10s by F1000Factor
You to see the highest rated articles in the service, either across the whole of medicine, or within individual specialties (Faculties). The “Current Top 10” is of articles added in the last month; the “All time Top 10” is of all the articles added to the service to date.
Top 10s by views
You can see the articles most-viewed in the last 14 days, either across the whole of medicine or within individual specialties (Faculties). To help find key articles in specialty journals, the “Most viewed Top 10” (from specialty journals) list excludes all those articles published in the widely-distributed general medical and biology journals.
Hidden Jewels
You can see a list of the articles most-viewed in the last 14 days that were published in less-widely distributed journals. These lists exclude any articles from widely-distributed general medical and biology journals, as well as those journals considered well-read within each specialty (Faculty), as judged by our Heads.
