Anne Greenwood, Managing Director, Faculty of 1000
Anne has overall responsibility for the Faculty of 1000 Medicine and Biology literature evaluation services. She is also Group Managing Director of the Science Navigation Group.
Steven Lokwan, Director of Operations, Faculty of 1000
Steven manages all aspects of the day-to-day running of the Faculty of 1000 Editorial office. He joined Faculty of 1000 after studying at University of Wales, Swansea, where he obtained a BSc (Hons) degree in Biology and a PhD in Neuropsychopharmacology.
Fiona Beeley, Senior Editorial Manager
Fiona helps manage the Faculty of 1000 Editorial team. She is also responsible for overseeing the day-to-day running of the Faculties, editing submissions and editorial training. She joined Faculty of 1000 after obtaining a BSc (Hons) in Medical Microbiology at University of Edinburgh.
Michelle Webb, Senior Editorial Manager
Michelle is responsible for managing and coordinating all aspects of editing and editorial training. She joined Faculty of 1000 after receiving a BSc (Hons) in Human Biology at Oxford Brookes University.
Tessa Loughlin, Commissioning Editor
Tessa is responsible for helping to manage the commissioning team and editing submissions. She joined Faculty of 1000 Medicine after receiving a BSc (Hons) in Molecular Biology at University of London.
Adie Chan, Editor
Adie is responsible for editing submissions, helping with editorial training. She joined Faculty of 1000 Medicine after receiving a BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Sciences at Kings College London.
Silvia Wersing, Editor
Silvia is responsible for editing submissions and helping with editorial training. She joined Faculty of 1000 Medicine after obtaining a Diploma in Biology and then working as a research assistant at the University of Cologne.
Natalie Davall, Senior Commissioning Assistant
Natalie is responsible for the day-to-day running of a sub-set of the Faculties. She joined Faculty of 1000 Medicine after obtaining a BSc (Hons) in Molecular Genetics at Kings College London.
Jennifer Rooke, Senior Commissioning Assistant
Jennifer is responsible for the day-to-day running of a sub-set of the Faculties. She joined Faculty of 1000 Medicine after obtaining a BSc (Hons) in Biology at The University of Portsmouth.
Hala Elhaj, Commissioning Assistant
Hala is responsible for the day-to-day running of a sub-set of the Faculties. She joined Faculty of 1000 Medicine after obtaining a BSc (Hons) in Genetics at University College London.
Izabel James, Editorial Assistant
Izabel is responsible for editing submissions. She obtained her MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine & Surgery) degree from the Faculdade de Ciências Médicas de Pernambuco, FESP/UPE, in Recife, Brazil, and then worked as a Pre-registration House Officer (PRHO) and Senior House Officer (SHO) at various hospitals in the UK before joining Faculty of 1000 Medicine.
Ryan Maclean, Commissioning Assistant
Ryan is responsible for the day-to-day running of a sub-set of the Faculties. He joined Faculty of 1000 Medicine after obtaining a BSc (Hons) in Biological Sciences at The University of Reading.
Lauren Marsh, Commissioning Assistant
Lauren is responsible for the day-to-day running of a sub-set of the Faculties. She joined Faculty of 1000 Medicine after obtaining a BSc (Hons) in Pharmacology & Physiology at The University of Leeds.
Sean Porazinski, Commissioning Assistant
Sean is responsible for the day-to-day running of a sub-set of the Faculties. He joined Faculty of 1000 Medicine after obtaining a BSc (Hons) in Genetics at Cardiff University, Wales.
Thomas Smith, Commissioning Assistant
Thomas is responsible for the day-to-day running of a sub-set of the Faculties. He joined Faculty of 1000 Medicine after obtaining a BSc (Hons) in Biology at The University of Durham.
Victoria Woollett, Commissioning Assistant
Victoria is responsible for the day-to-day running of a sub-set of the Faculties. She joined Faculty of 1000 Medicine after obtaining a BSc (Hons) degree in Biomedical Science at Kingston University.
Marketing, Sales, Advertising and PR
Kathleen Wets
Director Marketing and Sales, Faculty of 1000
Kathleen is responsible for Faculty of 1000 Marketing and Sales (which includes F1000 Biology and F1000 Medicine). Previously, Kathleen was Deputy Managing Director for Faculty of 1000 Biology, where she helped design and build Faculty of 1000, as well as working on business development. In addition, she was an advisor for BMC on proactive journal acquisitions. Prior to this, she worked at Merck Sharp & Dohme (Terlings Park, Harlow), edited Current Opinion in Neurobiology (Current Science Group), and then was the senior editor for various other Current Opinion titles (Elsevier). Kathleen studied Human Biology at Stanford University (California) and completed her graduated studies in Neurochemistry at the Institute of Psychiatry, University of London.
Robert Kursten
Marketing Manager, Faculty of 1000
Robert is responsible for the planning and implementation of the overall marketing strategy, working in concert with the rest of the Faculty of 1000 team. Since completing his BA degree at the University of South Africa in 1996, Robert has been active in the publishing industry, and for the last six years has specialized in the sales and marketing of STM publications.
Eva Fong
Marketing Assistant, Faculty of 1000
Eva joined F1000 as a Marketing Assistant, after gaining her MA in Communications Policy Studies from City University, and her Bachelors Computing degree from University of Bath. Currently studying for a Professional Diploma in Marketing (CIM), she is responsible for working on email, online and print marketing campaigns for Faculty of 1000 Biology and Medicine.
Qasim Salimi
Senior Sales Executive, Faculty of 1000
Qasim is the main point of contact for all corporate subscriptions to F1000. He graduated from the University of Durham in 1999 with a BA in Philosophy and has worked in a number of professional sales positions since then. He joined Faculty of 1000 in 2008.

Science Navigation Group
Vitek Tracz
Chairman
Vitek is the Chairman of the Science Navigation Group, of which BioMed Central is a member company. Vitek studied Mathematics in Warsaw and Jerusalem, and cinema at the Slade School of Art in London. Over the years, as Chairman of the Science Navigation Group, of which Biology Reports Ltd is a member company, he has developed a number of innovative publishing projects: the Current Opinion series of journals in many areas of biology and clinical medicine; as well as some important primary journals including Current Biology, Structure, Genome Biology, AIDS, and Journal of Hypertension; and web-based projects including BioMedNet, the Investigational Drugs Database IDdb, BioMed Central, and now Faculty of 1000 Biology and Medicine.
Anne Greenwood
Group Managing Director
Anne's main responsibilities include overseeing the activities of each of the Science Navigation Group companies; directing the activities of Current Controlled Trials, which offers trial registration and hosting services; and directing the creation of Faculty of 1000 Medicine, the new literature evaluation service based on the highly successful format of Faculty of 1000 Biology. She has worked with Vitek since 1983, launching and publishing a range of websites, books, pharmaceutical sponsored publications and journals (such as the "Current Opinion" series).
Andrew Crompton
Chief Operating Officer and Legal Director
Andrew is responsible for all operational and legal matters for Science Navigation Group and is the Chairman's deputy. A lawyer by training, Andrew first joined what was then the Current Science Group in 1996 as Business Development Director. He left to become Legal and Business Development Director for the Macmillan Group in 1998 before returning to the Current Science Group in January 2003.
