- Immunotheraputic approaches to rheumatoid arthritis, including trials of:-

2) Combination of monoclonal antibody to TNF and methotrexate
3) Antibody to IL-6R and methotrexate
4) Monotherapy with recombinant IL-10 and IL-11

Sir Maini has served on numerous international scientific committees and is currently a member of the advisory board for the Centre for Molecular Medicine (CMM), Karolinska Hospital, Stockholm, the International Advisory Board of the Japan Rheumatology Foundation . He is trustee of the Beit Memorial Fellowships for Medical Research, Sir Jules Thorn Charitable Trust, Kennedy Institute of Rheumatology Trust and Graham Dixon Charitable Trust.
Sir Maini is founding Co-Editor-in-Chief of Arthritis Research and Therapy and is a current member of the editorial boards of the Journal of Immunological Methods and Current Opinion in Rheumatology. He was previously a member of the editorial boards of Arthritis and Rheumatism, Rheumatology, Clinical and Experimental Rheumatology, International Archives of Allergy and Immunology, Annals of the Rheumatic Diseases, Clinical and Experimental Immunology and Immunology.

Head of Faculty: Rheumatology & Clinical Immunology (since 16 November 2005)
Sir Ravinder Maini is a Head of Faculty for the RHEUMATOLOGY & CLINICAL IMMUNOLOGY Faculty. The role of a Head of Faculty is to help divide the Faculty (specialty) into Sections (sub-specialty areas), nominate leaders in those areas as Section Heads, and offer ongoing advice on the strategic direction of the service. They are not asked to evaluate articles, although we do, of course, welcome them.
