Jérôme Bertherat is a Professor of Endocrinology at University of Paris 5 and Head of the Endocrine Tumors and Signalling Team of the Endocrine, Metabolism and Cancer Department of Institut Cochin, Paris.

Professor Bertherat’s main research interests are the pathophysiology of endocrine tumours, mainly of the corticotroph axis (pituitary and adrenal cortex) and the thyroid. His team study adrenocortical tumors, specifically the cAMP pathway, the genetics of Carney complex, protein kinase A (PKA) and transcription factors that bind the cAMP-Response-Element (CREB). His team explore the murine corticotroph tumor cell line AtT-20 between CRH-AMPc and LIF-JAK-STAT signalling pathways and have also demonstrated activation of the Wnt/ß-catenin signalling pathway. In thyroid tumors his major focus is the alterations of the cAMP and MAPK pathway.
