Katy Bosio is the Chief of the Immunity to Pulmonary Pathogens Section, Laboratory of Intracellular Parasites, National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, National Institutes of Health. She is also an Assistant Professor in the Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Pathology. Katy is the co-principle investigator and co-investigator on several Rocky Mountain Regional Center of Excellence for Biodefense and Emerging Infectious Diseases projects.

Katy's research focuses on how aerosolized pathogens, which cause more severe and rapid disease, infect and cause disease. Currently her main interest is the pathogenesis of Francisella tularensis, and in particular, innate immunity to F. tularensis, vaccine development and the modulation of primary antigen presenting cells by F. tularensis.
