Serves on International Advisory Board of the reviews The Lancet and New England Journal of Medicines; is assistant manager of the review American Journal of Kidney Diseases.

He is part of the Publishing Committee of numerous international reviews of Medicine and Nephrology of which the more important are: "Kidney International", Nephrology Dialysis and Transplantation, Experimental Nephrology, Current Opinion in Nephrology and Hypertension.

In 2000 he was named Chairman of the COMGAN (Commission on Global Advancement of Nephrology) - Research Subcommittee of the International Society of Nefrologia.

In recognition of his achievements, Giuseppe has been awarded in 1998 honorary memberships in the Association of American Physicians and the British Royal Society of Physicians.
