Research interests:

Mechanisms of antimicrobial resistance amongst bacterial pathogens, global surveillance (and molecular and seroepidemiology) of antimicrobial resistance (particularly in Streptococcus pneumoniae), community-acquired MRSA, respiratory tract infections caused by atypical bacteria, sexually transmitted disease pathogens, the development of molecular based assays to detect antimicrobial resistance determinants and to detect pathogens in clinical specimens.
