Sandeep Nathan M.D., F.A.C.C. is an Assistant Professor of Medicine with the Section of Cardiology at Rush University Medical Center and is Director of Cardiovascular Intervention at the John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County in Chicago, Illinois (formerly Cook County Hospital). Dr. Nathan received his undergraduate and medical degrees from Boston University and subsequently completed his Internal Medicine training at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He completed his fellowship in Cardiovascular Medicine Rush University Medical Center where he also served as Chief Cardiology Fellow. He continued at Rush, completing advanced training in cardiovascular and peripheral vascular
intervention.

Dr. Nathan is currently completing a Master of Science degree in Clinical Resarch through the Rush University Graduate College, supported in part by a National Institutes of Health K-30 grant. Dr. Nathan holds a joint faculty appointment with Rush University Medical Center and Cook County Hospital. His research interests include interventional device therapies, adjunctive pharmacotherapies in cardiovascular intervention, platelet biology and the use of intermediate biomarkers in the diagnosis and management of atherosclerotic disease. He has served as a Principal Investigator for a number of investigator-initiated prospective studies as well as multicenter randomized control trials. Dr. Nathan has authored or co-authored over 40 published manuscripts, abstracts and textbook chapters and has participated in various national lecturing and educational events.
