Guy Joos

Department of Respiratory Diseases, Ghent University Hospital, Belgium

Guy Joos is Professor of Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences of Ghent University, and he is currently Head of the Department of Respiratory Diseases, Ghent University Hospital.

Professor Joos’ main research interests are translational and clinical studies on asthma and COPD.

Professor Joos is a member of numerous societies including the European Respiratory Society, the European Academy of Allergology and Clinical Immunology, and the American Thoracic Society. He is a Member of the Board of the Belgian Society of Pneumology. He was Head of the group “Airway regulation and provocation” within the Assembly Allergy and Clinical Immunology of the ERS and is at present Chairman of the Long Range Planning Committeee of that Assembly. He is Associate Editor of the BioMed Central Journal Respiratory Research and Member of the Editorial Board of the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine and the Journal of COPD.
