Hugh Hemmings

As Vice Chair of Research, Dr. Hemmings oversees the extensive clinical and basic anesthesiology research program at Weill Cornell. He has authored over 100 publications including a textbook on basic anesthesiology. His clinical practice focuses on anesthesia for thoracic surgery and other high risk procedures. He leads an active research group investigating the neuropharmacology of general anesthetics, neuroprotection, cell signaling and novel analgesia therapies.
