Dominique Langin is Director of Research at the INSERM Unit U858.

His research focuses on the study of lipid and energy metabolism of adipose tissue and skeletal muscle in humans; humoral and nutritional control of adipocyte secretions of active molecules on the biology of the adipose cell; the physiology of the adipose tissue; and their involvement in the obesity-type 2 diabetes relationships. He is also interested in the role, function and regulation of extracellular matrix components during the differentiation of human fat cell precursors and delineation of cardiac and sympathetic nervous system adaptations to elucidate pathological mechanisms at the origin of cardiac alterations observed in obese patients.
