Gianna Moscato is Head of the Department of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, Fondazione Salvatore Maugeri, Institute for Care and Research at the Scientific Institute of Pavia. Her academic appointments include Professor of Respiratory and Occupational Allergy for the Postgraduate Schools of Occupational Medicine and Allergy and Immunology of the University of Pavia. Since 1997, she has been Professor of Allergy to chemicals for the Postgraduate School of Medical Toxicology there, and since 1988, she has acted as Course Coordinator for the Postgraduate School of Allergy and Immunology.

Professor Moscato’s research centres on respiratory allergy, particularly occupational asthma. She serves on the Editorial Board of Monaldi Archives of Chest Diseases, Giornale Italiano di Medicina del Lavoro e della Riabilitazione, and Giornale Italiano di Allergologia e Immunologia Clinica. Dr Moscato is a member of numerous Italian, European and international professional societies. She is Secretary of the Interest Group on Occupational Allergy of the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology and Coordinator of the Working Group on Occupational Allergy for the Italian Society of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (SIAIC) and of the Italian Association of Pneumologists (AIPO).

Gianna Moscato is a Section Head for Environmental & Occupational Lung Diseases, part of the RESPIRATORY DISORDERS Faculty. The role of a Section Head is to work with their Co-Section Head(s) to divide the Section (sub-specialty area) into its component areas of research, nominate leaders in those areas as Faculty Members, and offer ongoing oversight of the content within their Section. They are not asked to evaluate articles, although we do, of course, welcome them.
