Professor of Health Sciences and Epidemiology (2004 to date). Previously Head of Gastrointestinal Diseases Department at the Communicable Disease Surveillance Centre, Health Protection Agency Centre for Infections (1998-2004), Consultant Epidemiologist at Health Protection Scotland (1995-1998).

Research interests
Communicable disease epidemiology, especially epidemiology of diarrhoeal disease and foodborne zoonoses including chronic sequelae.
