Main Field(s) of Research
In our department we focus on the different possibilities of peri- and postoperativ analgesia for and after orthopedic surgery: New galenic application forms, epidural catheters after major scoliosis operations, perineural catheters for upper and lower limb surgery, complications with these catheters, use of new local anesthetics, control of their clinical effects and measurement of blood concentration, new ways to treat postoperative pain at the donor-site for bone graft at the iliac crest. Another field of interest is the prevention and treatment of postoperative nausea and vomiting. We are interested to find out more about the microbiological mechanisms of the antiinflammatory effects of local anesthetics in the context of acute lung injury. We are studying the influence of non steroidal antiinflammatory drugs on bone cells.
Any competing interests declared are displayed with individual evaluations.
