Dobromir Dobrev is Associate Professor (Priv.-Doz.) at the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology, Dresden University of Technology.

Professor Dobrev is a member of many societies, such as the American Heart Association,  the Cardiac Electrophysiology Society, and the German Society of Cardiology. He is a Member of the Editorial Boards of the Journal of Molecular and Cellular Cardiology, Naunyn Schmiedebergs Archives in Pharmacology and he is Consulting Editor for Cardiovascular Research. He has received several awards including the Education Award from the Dresden University of Technology 2000; the Carl Gustav Carus Education Award from the Medical Faculty of Dresden University of Technology 2001; the Wilhelm P. Winterstein Research Award from the German Heart Foundation in 2001; and the Albert-Fraenkel Award from the German Society of Cardiology in 2005.
