She is currently interested in the pathogenesis and mechanisms of pathogenesis of Helicobacter pylori and Franicsella tularensis. In particular, her research is focused on the molecular characterization of the H. pylori phagosome, identification of H. pylori virulence genes, the mechanism(s) by which H. pylori activates neutrophils and te mechanisms by which Francisella inhibits neutrophil (and macrophage) function.
