Research interests:
Ewout Steyerberg works at the Dept of Public Health, Erasmus MC, Rotterdam, the Netherlands. His research has covered a broad range of methodologic and medical topics. Methodological expertise is in the design and analysis of randomized controlled trials, cost-effectiveness analysis, and decision analysis. His methodological research focuses on the development, validation and updating of prognostic models.

Medical fields of application include oncology (e.g. esophageal cancer, testicular cancer, bladder cancer, colorectal cancer, hereditary nonpolyposis colon cancer (HNPCC)); cardiovascular disease (e.g. acute myocardial infarction, heart valve replacement, limb ischemia, possibilities for primary and secondary prevention); internal medicine (e.g. renovascular hypertension); traumatic brain injury (efficiency of trial design); pediatrics (e.g. RSV prevention); and infectious diseases (leprosy, chlamydia trachomatis screening).
